About Us The Glenvale Community is part of the worldwide Carmelite Order. A branch of the Order became known as the Discalced Carmelites under St. Teresa of Avila. One of the best known and loved saints of the Order is The Little Flower, St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus. Situated outside Newry in Northern Ireland the Carmelite Sisters of Glenvale follow the call of God to live the contemplative life of prayer and solitude in the company of Jesus Christ and Mary, His Mother. |

Guided by the Spirit we seek to serve the Church by praying for its leaders and its people. We work at providing altar breads for the local churches and fulfilling household duties. We also provide booklets on the life and teaching of the Carmelite saints. One of our recent publications is a beautiful Book of Prayers. To take a look at our new book click here. To read a booklet about St. Thérèse click here. |
